Troubleshooting

Fixes for the common snags — missing cards, sync that looks stuck, images that won't load, and where to find your data.

Last updated October 19, 2026

A card or record looks missing

Check Completed (⌘5) and Archive (⌘6) first — most "lost" cards have simply moved. If you deleted something, use ⌘Z in the moment if the app offers it; otherwise it's gone, so keep the habit of archiving rather than deleting when you're unsure.

An image didn't load

Images added from a URL are downloaded and saved on your Mac. If a download failed — for example, the link was private or the site was unreachable — add the image again, or use a file from your Mac instead of a link.

Sync doesn't seem to be updating

Sync uses your own iCloud account, so it needs iCloud Drive turned on and a signed-in Apple ID in System Settings. Give it a moment; large changes can take a minute to appear on another Mac.

Where my data lives on disk

Mandaboard keeps its database in the app's container and stores images in ~/Library/Application Support/Mandaboard/Images/. Because it's your Mac, it's also your backup — Time Machine will include it.
